As the Waters cover the Sea

God spoke through Habakkuk the summary message of scripture...and our purpose for moving to State College: "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord." That may sound a bit religious to you, but it is, in truth, what we are about. I believe this move to be strategic in positioning us to contribute effectively to the cause of this verse. May we be alert to the movement of the Spirit as he uses us toward this glory.

It is a crisp 23 degrees in SC this morning. It is finally acting like winter...a good thing, I believe. Ask me in 5 years if I still believe that. As I expected, now that we are on this side of the new year, the slide is down hill to the time to move. Things are starting to accelerate. Buckle up, it is going to be an exciting ride.

Be praying about the retreat Feb. 2-3. The lodge and barn are all set. I talked to Ruben, the owner last night. Pray for him...on Jan 16 he goes in for surgery. They will take a bone from his hip and put it in his foot. (that would make for some interesting annalogies.) Pretty major. Ruben respects our team and has been amazingly generous to us.

God has chosen you for this mission. (and maybe some others that are praying about it) May we never forget it.

thank you, Dad for your encouraging words. I suspect that my faith will be harder and harder to maintain as the departure date draws closer. It is really easy to say that we are going despite all of the unknowns when you are 2 years from leaving...but much more of a challenge when you are 2 months, or 2 days away. May the Lord graciously serve each of us with immeasureable amounts of faith.

Vic,
Thank you for the words of encouragement and focus. I am not really sure where I am right now. Everything seems shaky right now and my faith feels weak. The changes at work have been harder than I imagined.

I continue to remind myself that God is in control--not humans.

I can't wait to get to PA. I am like a child before Christmas--'I can't wait. How much longer??? Why does it seem to take so long???

God is saying SHHHHHHHH! Be still and remember who I am. --Sovereign, Peace, Faithful...

This is definately my goal and my desire. I want to make sure that this mission is not about me. I want to make sure that God is the main character in this story we are about to write. I want us to be pipes, where blessings are constantly flowing in from God but flow right back out unto the people that we come across in State College.

Alice, what changes at work are you refering to?

Have you a moment? Take a deep breath. Let us all remember that we are answering a Call. A Call rooted in prayer. Have you a moment? Lock arms. We must continue to stay together. Leaning on one another. Do you feel His embrace. The embrace of the Comforter. Have you a moment? The time is coming when we will charge into battle. Remain sure that our protection is not first priority. His name and glory are. Our protection is up to Him. We will succeed no matter what, if we breath deep the Spirit and Lock arms with the His promises and run to battle and fight for the sake of the Kingdom.

Thanks Vic. A call not to procrastinate. I pray that all of us will clearly see God's prorities. And, that we'll look back and be pricked by God's grace and care.

I am grateful for those comments. It gives me things to ponder. I will pray.
I have to admit it is quite intimidating to attempt to write when all of you have such descriptive writing abilities!!!!
Love to all.
