happy valley

Even the cows are happy!

Rainy Day in PA

It's very overcast and raining today, but we're still enjoying it. Slept in a little and looked at the rest of the houses on the list. We found many that will meet our needs. We then said goodbye to our fantastic hosts. They are on their way to St Petersburg, FL to spend it with his parents.

We had to go to the snow, it's been so long.

You were right about Bellefonte, it's beautiful even in the rain.

The weather started getting worse, so headed back to the Andrew's to watch movies, enjoy the gas fireplace, and prepare to leave tomorrow. We have so enjoyed this trip. It's a great place.

See you soon,
Richard, Alice, Katie, and Christopher

What A Great Place!!!!

Hello from Boalsburg,

We spent most of last evening with Bill and Joanne. They are such wonderful people. We look forward to knowing them better. Earlier last night we went to Wegman's and enjoyed it. I see why Jeremy likes it so much. We had a great day today. I started running down leads for a new career. Joanne set me up with lots of contact information. So much, I really can't get to it all until we return to TX. Alice, Katie, and Christopher took another trip east of here to track down Amish people. See photos!!! You can click on them to get a larger image.

They stopped at the Woodward Camp for skateboarding, snowboarding, motocross, BMX, etc. It looks great, but it's not inexpensive--all the people teaching are pros.

We met with a realtor, Janine Jansen, who happens to be a friend of Joanne's and a pastor's wife. It was so great, after she printed out a list of homes to look at, she asked us to pray. She was very interested in what Mission Imprint was about.

Tomorrow we plan on 1) getting up the mountain and praying over the city first thing in the morning, 2) looking at some of the homes Janine pointed us to, 3) see the snow hill, and then whatever we want.

We are trying to have an open heart and mind, but we sure love this place. We are impressed with how friendly the people are, even just people we walk by. We so look forward to Christmas Eve. Have a great day in the Lord. See you soon.

Richard, Alice, Katie, & Christopher

Baumbastic!

We are about to gather in Texas. The Shipps are almost here. What did God show you today?

We are praying that he will infuse you with the dream.

We're Home!

Greetings from State College,

It's a wonderful place. We ate at the Corner Place this morning.

Katie and I then met with a PSU nursing counselor. We didn't hear what we had hoped for, but we know it's what God has for Katie. She will have to go to PSU-Altoona next year. The blessing is that Altoona has a two year program that Katie is already excited about. As Katie said, "people in Africa don't care if her degree is a 2 or 4 year degree." She does have the option of continuing and completing a 4 year BSN, most of which will be online.

Christopher and Alice walked around and spent time shopping and meeting people. They even had coffee at Panera's with a new friend who attends the biggest Methodist church in town, according to Margaret. She was so excited about Mission Imprint's plan that she was going to call her Ed Pastor and tell her all about it.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. We're so happy we came. More to come later.

God is good,
Richard, Alice, Katie, and Christopher

This Morning's Cup

God awakened me early with the thought that I would love to be able to tap on the back door of the Andrew's "cottage" and hand the Baum family their first steaming cup of coffee this morning and say some things. Things like:
1. Thank you for opening your heart to this call.
2. May God give you his eyes and ears today.
3. May the call be crystalized through the conversations you have and the eyes of the people you encounter.
4. May your family time be Spirit directed and sweetened by unity.
5. May the Imprint of a Divine Movement solidify in each of your hearts...and your part in it.

The CentreDaily.com says that it is a crisp 27 degrees outside today. Breathe deep

You are each loved by those of us praying. Lock Arms with us.

This mission assignment has already begun. Run to the Battle!

I love you.

Do you see what I see?

The Season:
Thank God, I am recovering under the gentle care of my sweet wife...who always wanted to be a nurse. (she has changed her mind now:) I think I will need a strong back in our coming adventure, but it will take a little while. Meanwhile, I am doing a lot of thinking and a little writing.

I see great things ahead. It is amazing, though, how different what I am seeing is from what I thought I saw 30 years ago when we landed in Oshkosh to plant a church there. I was too blinded by my own need for validation that I had no clue what God wanted. Some of those blinders have been lifted after 3 decades of Spirit directed head thumping. Whatever the outward appearance of the church and mission that God establishes through us in SC the necessary ingredients will be in the mix:
1. Humble and submitted hearts of our little handful.
2. God leading us to those he is pursuing.
3. Heart felt prayer for God to move in us and if he will, among us.
4. Authentic, truth telling, mutually serving community
5. Holy Fear (always present when He is)

Can you see what I see?

Can will protect us...feed us...and bring about His glory.

I thank God for the team he is assembling!

Lime Wire

Do any of you know about Lime Wire. If you do could you let me know. I am wondering if it is a legal way to get free songs, videos, etc. or not.

King Family Hypochondriacs!

Okay, so they are not hypochodriacs at all....sorry, I have no idea how to spell that word. :)

We need some serious prayers for my parents and Abby. Mom is having a colonoscopy on Monday which is just scary and awful on so many different levels...Dad is having back surgery on Tuesday, which is a blessing, but scary also....and Abby has several "spots" on her cervix that are being checked out.

Too much for my mind or heart to handle. Please pray for them, please check on them, please hug them for me, I hate being so far away, especially now.

Mom, Dad & Abby, you are safe in the palm of God's hand, I love you.

Need your help.

Hey there family,
I need to ask for your prayers. I have really been convicted lately that I am not speaking to my children with gentleness and love enough. They hear a harsh tone from me a lot of the time, and the problem is growing. I tend to be overwhelmed and stressed or just tired and out of patience and they get the brunt of my frustrations. I do not want to be this kind of mom. I have been wanting to change this for a while now, and I just can't do it on my own. I need Jesus to change this in me. Please pray for me, pray for my sweet babies. We talk about showing others who Jesus is by our love and kindness, how in the world could I claim this for strangers and not for the children that God has given me. I need a miracle in my heart.
Love you each,
Lara
